EWB Louisville's Belize project was this chapters first project. Focused on water quality in Gales, Point Belize and has become the model for all of EWB Louisville's future project.
In 2014, some members of the newly founded Louisville Chapter of Engineers Without Borders/ Water Professionals traveled to Haiti to complete a water purification project. Members of the chapter ventured to the small city of Grand Goave, Haiti to begin the service project. They partnered with a Louisville based non-profit organization called WaterStep that works to help communities in developing areas of the world meet their water and hygiene needs though effective training and technology.
